We welcome volunteers who have anywhere from 1 to 80 hours a month available.

There are many ways to join us in welcoming and supporting those seeking asylum
Join a support team to work directly with a new community member to find housing, coordinate transportation, medical care and meet other needs.
Or, volunteer in other ways including:
Donating clothing and household goods.
Providing housing for a new community member. Spaces with some separation or "mother-in-law" apartments are especially welcome.
Providing transportation to appointments, for shopping trips, etc.
Providing social support - get to know a new community member, help them get acquainted to a new area, provide friendship and community.
Organizational support - help the CASAN board with fundraising, social media expertise, website and database development.
Note that responsibilities involving direct service require a background check (paid for by CASAN). All involved with CASAN keep confidential the personal information of people seeking asylum in our community. Assisting an asylum seeker is work we take on with care and thoughtfulness, and we want to offer confidentiality and safety. Thank you for your understanding.
